Furniture China 2009 announced that its next show will be staged September 9-12, 2009 at four venues: Shanghai New International Expo Center SNIEC, Pudong Exhibition Center , Shanghai Mart and Intex Shanghai, with a total of 240,000 sq m of exhibition area.
Restructuring the floor plans and the 2-Hall expansion of the Pudong Exhibition Center will allow for the allocation of additional space for 200 new companies, bringing the total number of exhibitors to 1600 on a net exhibition space of 120,000 sq m (up 20% on 2008).
All exhibitors, old and new, have been encouraged to use duplex booth constructions to increase display space and present more products. “The majority of our customers asked for more exhibition space – our visitors asked for more exhibitors and products…the solution is to go for duplex booths”, explains Wang Mingliang.
The halls and venues will be restructured by exhibition categories: At SNIEC the West Halls will feature design furniture (W1), contemporary (W2), classic, kitchen (W3) and furnishings (W4). The East Halls focus on sofas & upholstery (E1, E2) and office furniture (E3, E4). The Shanghai Mart and Intex will host sofas & upholstery displays, and the Pudong Exhibition Center iwill be dedicated to tables & chairs. Shuttle services within SNIEC, to and from the hotels and in between the venues will be available for visitors free of charge. Maps and schedules in both English and Chinese will be provided.
Also, pre-show services have been revamped: furnitureinchina.com will take Furniture China exhibitors online and invites visitors to virtual showrooms. The online network will feature over 1,000 exhibitors. Available 365 days a year, the platform features various functions such as product and company searches, viewing product pictures and features and getting in touch with companies ahead of the exhibition.
