Sugar Beach Interiors, located in Destin, has been named the exclusive interior design firm for Indigo, located in Perdido Key, Florida. Indigo is a gulf-front, luxury condominium with old Florida-style architecture, a lush pool area with waterfalls, and a private elevator that delivers residents to their individual front door.
Developed by Head Companies of Point Clear, Alabama, Yates Construction Company of Philadelphia, Mississippi and Playground Destination Properties, Inc. of Vancouver, Canada,
Indigo has 177 units that offer views overlooking the gulf and bay, and is situated on approximately seven acres of an estimated 14-mile stretch of beach. Indigo is under the marketing management of PlaygroundTM Destination Properties, Inc., a division of Intrawest that globally sells and markets resort real estate at premier destinations around the world, including Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.
The Indigo project is headed up by interior designers Karen Waterfield, owner of Sugar Beach Interiors, and Kari Sherrod. Waterfield has been designing homes on the Emerald Coast since 1981. In 1986, she co-founded Sugar Beach Interiors with her former partner, Jane Alden. A licensed interior designer for 25 years, Waterfield’s vision was to build an interior design firm that would offer a full range of professional design services catering to a varied clientele.
Focusing their design efforts predominantly along the Emerald Coast, Sugar Beach Interiors has an innate understanding of the varied design styles found in custom-built, residential homes, as well as condominiums located within resorts and planned-coastal communities. Their portfolio includes Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort, Rosemary Beach, The Retreat, Regatta Bay, Kelly Plantation and WaterColor just to name a few.
Although furniture sales are included in their services, Sugar Beach Interiors is not only a furniture showroom, but also a full service design firm with a selection of furniture and original art, including select paintings up to $8,000. Referred to as “A Design and Art Gallery”, Sugar Beach has grown into a team of professional licensed designers.
Their steadfast success is attributed to their reputation for business integrity. Their commitment to interior design excellence begins with attentive customer service and extends through every department of the firm. They have developed a solid rapport with vendors and contractors and have an established background for outfitting condos for resale.
