The chips were flying in the Broyhill Furniture showroom during the Las Vegas Furniture Market held last month. Retailers participated in a contest where they were eligible to receive one poker chip for each new bedroom, dining, upholstery, or occasional group they ordered during the Market, excluding items already in stock. Winners would receive up to $5,000 in credit toward the cost of the new placements they ordered.
Approximately 1,000 poker chips were placed in an apothecary jar and on Friday, Dave Palmer, general manager of the World Market Center, drew the five winners (one for each day of the market). Palmer stated, “There were an enormous amount of poker chip entries—we could hardly lift the bowl! It was apparent that Broyhill had written an amazing amount of orders.”
Winners of the Broyhill Poker Chip Contest were: Dow Furniture in Waldoboro, ME, Fortino’s Total Home in Hollister, CA, Haus & Home, Inc., in Big Bear Lake, CA, Dale’s Furniture Showrooms in Ruidoso Downs, NM, and Whidbey Furniture in Oak Harbor, WA. Dave Pinamonti, vice president of sales for Broyhill added, “We congratulate our dealers and hope they enjoy their winnings. We had a lot of fun promoting this contest and were enthused by our retailers’ response to it.”
