Dallas Market Center has announced the passing of its chairman emeritus, Bill Winsor, on Thursday
following a brief illness. Winsor served as president and chief executive officer of the Dallas Market Center from
1993 to 2015, after which he was named chairman emeritus. He remained active in the business until his passing.
During his tenure, Winsor played a key role in shaping the growth, strategy, and operations of the 5
million-square-foot B2B marketplace, which connects buyers and sellers across multiple industries, including
apparel, home furnishings, lighting, holiday and floral, tabletop, and gift products. Dallas Market Center hosts
more than 25 global trade events annually, along with specialized shows welcoming buyers worldwide.
Among his more recent contributions, Winsor guided the 2021 launch of the Western and English
marketplace and oversaw the debut of a specialized nearshoring trade event in December
2024, which brought together brands with vetted factories and supply chain providers from Mexico and Latin America.
Prior to his leadership at Dallas Market Center, Winsor served as president and general manager of
INFOMART, a former technology trade mart in Dallas, which he helped establish under Crow
Family Holdings in 1981. Winsor had previously worked at Texas Instruments, where he
oversaw corporate marketing and merchandising across five product divisions, including consumer goods, digital
systems, and semiconductors.
Winsor held a B.S. in Communications from Southwest Texas State University. Outside of his
professional achievements, he was an avid historian, amateur archaeologist, and Texas rancher. He is survived by his
wife, Kathleen, sons Mark and Kelley (wife Lacy), and three
grandchildren.
Memorial service details will be announced soon.
