  2. by creating both a vision and operational policies of which all associates can participate in a meaningful manner

  3. by remaining current in knowledge regarding market trends, technology, competition and legal landscaping

  4. by employing the proper people with skills that match assigned responsibilities

  5. by utilizing associates who realize that attitudes are more important than facts

  6. by staying personally involved in both current activities and future planning

  7. by realizing that associates who are not challenged are seldom productive

  8. by developing and maintaining a current secession plan
