High Point by Design (HPXD), the organization that promotes and supports High Point as a year-round destination for design and creativity, has appointed three new members to its Board. Dawn Brinson, Founder of A New Day, a creative communications and marketing firm, was elected Vice President and Tammy Nagem, CEO and President of the High Point Market Authority, and Melody Burnett, President of Visit High Point, were both appointed at-large positions.

HPXD President Carol Gregg is very optimistic about the way the Board is evolving.

“I look forward to the unique strengths each of these new members brings to the HPXD community. Dawn brings a passion for our Industry as well as the High Point community. Her leadership style and communications expertise will be an asset to implementing our Strategic Plan.”

Gregg continues, “Both Visit High Point and the Market Authority have been supportive of our mission since HPXD’s inception. I look forward to working with Melody and Tammy to continue building the High Point brand as a year round Design Destination.”

Additionally, human resources specialist Emily Mansfield, formerly Assistant Secretary, has taken on the role of Secretary. And the three Board members who have been integral in shaping and seeding HPXD from the start – John Muldoon of Cohab.Space, Tom Verellen of Verellen Furniture, and Tom van Dessel of Splashworks – will be recognized with a permanent Founding Member position on the Board. HPXD will also buy a brick in their honor for the Home Furnishings Hall of Fame’s Pathways of Honor.

About High Point by Design
High Point by Design’s origins go back to Spring 2020. The organization was founded with urgency at the beginning of the Pandemic, when High Point Market was postponed, and interior designers, busier than ever, needed to source products for projects. With its collection of showrooms, HPXD was a solution to more private and personalized shopping on demand. Presently, HPXD welcomes the design trade to visit their network of 40 showrooms by appointment year round. The group also creates custom tours for individual firms and groups.
