3. the divisive effect of workplace gossip
4. gossip tends toward the negative
5. that rumors erase productive time
6. that some personnel enjoy sharing and spreading rumors
7. that the more explosive the rumor, the faster it spreads
8. that as loyalty increases, gossip decreases
