I often wondered the same thing Barbara. Regarding Pier One Stores: Have you noticed the change of all the furnishings at Pier One? They went from bright, light and airy (such as the Jamaica light wicker beauty) to more Indian style with the deeper and darker colors, velvet and tassels, dark and heavy. They started the change at least 5 or more years ago and they've been getting heavier (dark, carved furniture with the Indian/Tibet/Hindu decor). One day they may get back to light and airy, such as the Jamaica Bedroom Furnishings but until then, Pier One is off my list because they no longer have a nice variety; just dark, deep and drab.
